Ready to make the world laugh with your unique comedic flair? Comedy Bloomers invites you to step into the limelight and showcase your talent in an unprecedented celebration of queer comedy with the LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year 2025.
Competition heats begin in April in London, Edinburgh & Manchester with semi-finals in May, Finals in June with our celebrity judging panel.
The winner will get an amazing trophy and feature in the finals film which will be live-streamed on the night and broadcast in the UK and available internationally.
Last year’s winner Marty Gleeson commented "This award opened up so many doors for me in my comedy career. While it gave me visibility, it also was a huge boost of confidence in my craft. It's a vital competition for queer voices in comedy”

The LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year 2024 featured some of the most exciting emerging talent on the LGBTQ+ comedy scene.
Marty Gleeson was crowned the winner of the Comedy Bloomers LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year 2024, with Maple Zuo and Sallyann Fellowes receiving special recognition as runners up in the competition.The finals event, which took place at the legendary Clapham Grand in an expanded multi-camera filmed live show, featured MC and past finalist Dane Buckley alongside a stellar line up of celebrity judges including Zoe Lyons, BBC regular, Jen Brister (Live at the Apollo), legendary queen maker, Jonny Woo, and TikTok sensation, Daniel Foxx.
Winner, Marty Gleeson, said: “What an absolutely brilliant show to be a part of. Everyone was so class! I cannot believe I won and am so grateful to have performed on such a grand stage in front of and with people I really respect and admire. An absolute belter of a show, I’ll remember it forever.”
